4 Cozy Camper Trailer Upgrades Under $100 (That Actually Make Life Better)

Sick of shivering in your trailer, taking sad showers, and watching Netflix on your little phone screen?
Yeah… been there. No one warns you that “adventure” can feel a lot like “meagerly” when you’re unprepared.

But tiny tweaks = total transformation. Here’s how we turned our travel trailer from basic and blah into a cozy, budget-friendly escape that feels like home.

Here are our top 4 cozy upgrades under $100—each one rated on the Comfort Criteria scale:
💼 Does it Travel?
💸 Cost
🌱 Sustainability
🛋️ Cozy Factor

Movie Magic & Gaming Nights: The Power of a Tiny Projector

Say goodbye to straining your eyes on a tiny phone screen. We snagged a mini projector that fits in the cabinet. Turn any white curtain or wall into a full-on theater.  Many are lightweight, and affordable and come with a soft sided bag, and foldable screen. We have a streaming device that connects to Wi-Fi. All you need is an electric hook up or solar power. Now we have starlit movie marathons and Mario Kart tourneys on the road.

Cozy Criteria:

  • ✈️ Does It Travel? 2/4 – fits in a cabinet in a soft bag
  • 💸 Cost: $ – ~$70–100
  • 🌱 Sustainability: 1/4 – LED, low energy
  • 🛋️ Cozy Factor: 4/4 – makes any night comforting with entertainment

The Shower Head Glow-Up

Stock camper showers are a joke and ours broke. We swapped for a high-pressure, water-saving head in easily. Less water, better pressure, more ahhh. It feels so good after a dusty hike. Trust me, your mood (and tanks) will thank you. Install took 5 minutes with zero tools for a high-efficiency Oxygenics one.

Cozy Criteria:

  • ✈️ Does It Travel? 1/4 – stays installed, recommend take down during road trip
  • 💸 Cost: $ – ~$40
  • 🌱 Sustainability: 2/4 – water saver if using less pressure setting
  • 🛋️ Cozy Factor: 4/4 – Stay fresh, especially after outdoor adventure.

Bubble Insulation = Instant Comfort

If you’re sweating like a campfire marshmallow or freezing like a popsicle in a Yeti cooler, grab bubble insulation. It’s cheap, easy to install, and saves your sanity in wild temps. Cut it. Velcro it. For windows, ceiling vents, and under-bed spots. Cozy in winter, cool in summer. Bonus: it’s light and totally reusable each season.

Cozy Criteria:

  • ✈️ Does It Travel? 3/4 – rolls or folds flat, so many ways to use
  • 💸 Cost: $ – under $30
  • 🌱 Sustainability: 4/4 – reduces energy use
  • 🛋️ Cozy Factor: 4/4 – no more temp tantrums

Vortex II RV Camper Fan Replacement Kit

If your ceiling fan sounds like a dying cricket and barely moves air, this one’s for you. We replaced the original vent fan with the Vortex II and WOW—it moves air like a boss. Keeps things cool, dries showers faster, and no more muggy mornings or smelly trailer after cooking.

Cozy Criteria:

  • ✈️ Does It Travel? 1/4 – built-in upgrade for the trailer travels
  • 💸 Cost: $ – ~$70
  • 🌱 Sustainability: 3/4 – less AC use, better airflow
  • 🛋️ Cozy Factor: 4/4 – airflow = fresh feels

Tiny Changes, Big Comfort

You don’t need a luxury RV or an endless budget to live well on the road. These four under-$100 upgrades brought comfort, ease, and joy back into my trailer life—and I want the same for you.
